australian filmmaker george miller, who holds a medical degree from the university of new south wales, co-founded kennedy miller productions with byron kennedy in 1972. he first gained international acclaim with his 1979 debut feature, mad max, which led to a successful franchise including mad max 2 and mad max beyond thunderdome. after directing the witches of eastwick in 1987, miller focused on producing australian projects and went on to direct lorenzo’s oil (1992). he achieved significant acclaim with babe (1995), which earned seven academy award nominations, and its sequel, babe: pig in the city (1998). miller’s animated films, happy feet (2006) and its sequel (2011), were also highly successful, with happy feet winning the academy award for best animated feature. his most recent work, mad max: fury road (2015), revitalised the iconic franchise and received six academy awards from ten nominations. now, miller returns with another thrilling instalment of the mad max saga, furiosa: a mad max saga.
